On Wednesday, 2006 March 29, a total eclipse of the Sun will be visible from within a narrow corridor which traverses half the Earth. The path of the Moon's umbra shadow begins in Brazil and extends across the Atlantic, northern Africa, and central Asia where it ends at sunset in western Mongolia. A partial eclipse will be seen within the much broader path of the Moon's penumbral shadow, which includes the northern two thirds of Africa, Europe, and central Asia.
Ghana is going to experience this year eclipse of the sun and many across the continent will be present to observe one of the best eclipse of the past few years.
The Joseph project:
THE PURPOSE
The purpose of “The Joseph Project” is to make the 21st. century the African century.
The Joseph Project” is the code name for a series of activities, actions and interactions being spearheaded by Ghana to re-establish the African Nation as a nation of all its peoples, capable of delivering on the promise of God to Africa and the African peoples.
“I am black and beautiful, O daughters of Jerusalem … I am dark, because the sun has gazed on me. My mother’s sons were angry with me; and made me work hard in their vineyards, but my own vineyard I have not kept”. (Song of Songs 1,5-6 )

JOSEPH
Those of us who believe in the promise of God to Africa, take our hope from the story of Joseph in the Bible. For we believe that God loved Joseph and yet saw him cast into the hell of slavery and brought out in triumph, to magnify the scale of his favour.
Genesis 37 vrs. 28 - “Then there passed by Midianites merchantmen; and they drew and lifted up Joseph out of the pit and sold Joseph to the Ishmaelite for twenty pieces of silver: and they brought Joseph into Egypt.”

Genesis 45vrs 26 - 28 - “And told him, saying, Joseph is yet alive, and he is governor over all the land of Egypt. And Jacob’s heart fainted, for he believed them not;
And they told him all the words of Joseph, which he had
said unto them: and when he saw the wagons which Joseph had sent to carry him, the spirit of Jacob their father revived
EMANICPATION DAY 2006- GHANA
THEME: EMANCIPATION, OUR HERITAGE OUR STRENGTH
Sub-theme: Honoring Our African Heroes
Emancipation Day is celebrated every year in Ghana beginning in the last week of July and climaxing on August 1st, the anniversary of the declaration of the emancipation of slaves. An event celebrated annually in Ghana since 1998, Emancipation Day provides us an opportunity to go back into history and find out more about an activity most cruel in human history and whose effect has been with the World ever since and been the subject of intense universal debates, especially in recent times. We need to learn more about the slave trade, find out the roles of our ancestors in its perpetration, use it as a basis to understand our brothers and sisters in the Diaspora the more, and find out how to turn that tragedy into something more positive for the African continent, the Black Community universally and the world at large.
